1. Visit Museum Le Mayeur
Mandatory for art lovers. The former home of Belgian artist Adrien Jean Le Mayeur and his wife Ni Polok now serves as a museum. The museum contains almost 90 of Le Mayeurs paintings, many of them with Ni Polok as the motive. The Museum Le Mayeur is located almost on the beach, next to Grand Bali Beach Hotel. The building is quite a sight of its own.
2. Play a round of golf at Bali Beach Golf course
Sanur has it very own 9 hole golf course - the Bali Beach Golf course. The course isn't as challenging as Bali's top golf courses, but perfect for a couple of hours relaxing golf. 3. Enjoy the thrills of watersports
Pick your favorite among windsurfing, kitesurfing and wakeboarding or hit the waters on a banana boat. Surfers should head to Grand Hyatt for some good waves. The best time of year to surf Grand Hyatt is November to April.
4. Bali kite festival
If you are in Sanur in July you have the opportunity to experience the spectacular sight of hundreds of kites in the skies - some kites as long as 10 meters and tails 10 times that length. The Bali kite festival is held on Padang Galak beach, 2 km north of Sanur and includes kite design and flight competitions.
5. Treat yourself with a spa and massage treatment
Bali is famous for its spas and massage and Sanur has its share of spa and massage options. Most high-end hotels offer treatment and there's also several options a long Jalan Tamblingan. A regular massage, pedicure, manicure, a flower or milk bath and much more are among the many options.
6. A trip along Sanur beachfront walk.
Take a walk on Sanurs 4 km long beachfront walk. Have a cup of coffee or a drink in one of the many cafes and restaurants watch life as it plays out along the beach.
7. Waterbom Water Park
If you are in Sanur with children, a day in Waterbom Water Park is a great way to spend a day. The Race track and Climax are recommended for the thrill seekers, while the less adventurous will enjoy a ride down Lazy River. The park is located in Kuta, about half an hour's drive from Sanur.
8. Bali Safari and Marine Park
Another one for the kids is the Bali Safari and Marine Park where a safari tram drives you through open areas with zebras, hippos, rhinos and tigers. The park also has a fresh water aquarium, hosts different animal shows - a dolphin show is said to be coming soon. There areshuttle busses leaving from Sanur to the park every morning.
9. Go Rafting on the Ayung or the Telaga waja river
Experience the diverse Balinese landscape while rushing down white water rapids. The trips are two hours long and are thrilling way to experience the Balinese nature. There are tours in the morning and in the afternoon and the operators will pick you up in Sanur.
10. Find the stone pillar at Pura Belangjong.
Honestly the stone pillar isn't that impressive a sight on its own, but knowing that the pillar is one of Bali's oldest man-made objects makes it interesting. The pillar dates back to 913 AD and you find next to the Belanjong Temple in the Southern part of Sanur. Just ask for directions and most people will know where to find the pillar.
11. Bali Orchid Garden
The thousands of orchids in the garden guarantee that you'll find blooming orchids all through the year. Bali orchid garden is much more than orchids though. Walk and smell your way through the many flowers on the gardens paved walkways.
