The Bali attraction GWK Cultural Park, with the Garuda Wishnu Kencana statue, is located in the southern part of Bali island (the limestone plateau of Ungasan Hill, Jimbaran), close to Uluwatu Temple and Dreamland beach where the Cultural Park is an art and culture window of Bali.
The statue, Garuda Kencana, is made by the native Balinese artist Nyoman Nuart. Garuda Wishnu Kencana is a name for the Hindu God Wishnu - who rides his mystical half man / half bird companion with the name Garuda. The statue were planned to reach height 172 meters and were made with the mission to become one of 8th the world miracles and 2nd in Indonesia.
The statue and its pedestal will be surrounded by more than 240 hectares cultural park which was once an abandoned and unproductive limestone quarry.
